By HFF Trust
The Healthy Future Families (HFF) Trust provide evidence-based healthy lifestyle programmes in workplaces. These mostly take the form of seminars or lunchtime sessions, addressing aspects such as healthy eating, physical activity, and insights into how to avoid unhealthy behaviours that are hidden within our obesogenic environment. Organisations and businesses we have worked with include city councils as well as large and small businesses and voluntary organisations.
The HFF Trust is run by a passionate group of health professional volunteers. We are a registered charity formed in 2013 by a group of health professionals who share a concern about the number of overweight children being seen in clinical practice, and who are developing health problems such as type 2 diabetes as a result of their excess weight. Our vision is for all New Zealand children to live in an environment that enables and supports healthy eating and physical activity patterns. We aim to achieve this by raising awareness of the factors that are contributing to the increasing incidence of obesity and type 2 diabetes in New Zealand children, advocating for change in the current obesogenic environment, carrying out health promotion activities and supporting health initiatives that will contribute to a reducing obesity and type 2 diabetes in the future.
